Illinois, Wisconsin & Minnesota

Made it to Illinois in time to watch my nephew's football game, first time I've been to a High School game since I was in HS!  He is an amazing player, unfortunately they lost the game against their rivals.

#52 Garrett Wooten

He plays both sides of the ball plus long snaps

My sister's adorable rescue baby Jenny

My sister's other baby Daisy

Unfortunately we were not thinking and didn't take any pictures of my sister, her daughter or her husband!  Thought of this after we were hours away from them, oh well we were having so much fun and completely enjoyed our time together.

Hit Wisconsin and found a wonderful place to stay in Baraboo!  Decided to stay two days here so that we could explore Devil's Lake State Park.  We really wanted to put the kayak in the lake but between the high winds and our exhausting hike it never happened.

Balancing Rock, kinda amazing it doesn't fall!

Our hiking trail is hidden in these rocks

Devil's Lake

Taking a break at the top of our hike.

Thought this rock was pretty cool, cracked all the way through and still stays in place

This is elephant rock...looked more like a buffalo to us!

Trey trying to tumble elephant rock down the mountain!

Wonder what lives in here?

Prospect point, on our second mountain hike of the day.

Beautiful fall trees on our road trip out of Wisconsin!

From here we are headed to Minnesota to see Maureen!  It is so wonderful seeing friends along this journey of ours.  Thank you Maureen & Kevin for a wonderful night out!  Maureen good luck on your training for your next marathon..

Maine

Parked the HOW here for two nights just outside of Portland, Maine that is!

First stop in Portland was to visit Allison and her bar "The Thirsty Pig".....well let's just say we never made it back to the camper that night.  Started with great house made sausage and local beer at Thirsty Pig, then several other local haunts and a stop for a late night lobster!  Thanks Allison for the tour of Portland and the bed in your guest room.

Onward to Acadia National Park!
Our first views of Acadia from atop Cadillac Mountain, thought these were breathtaking, had no idea what the next day would have in store for us.

This is our dinner for the night.....2# lobster!!!
Our first morning in Acadia and hit upon a trail to Bubble Pond, not a bad way to watch the sunrise!

From Bubble Pond we ventured up to the trail to the South Bubble which afforded us these lovely views.....
Looking at the North Bubble from the top of the South Bubble

Look Honey, I think I see the ocean!

Didn't understand why they called this Sandy Beach until I saw the other ones.

Trey tried the whole time we were here to convince me to make this climb up what is called the Beehive...no dice!

This picture reminds us so much of the coast of Oregon.

 My favorite picture of Trey!

All the rest of the beaches in Acadia look like this.
Our last day at Acadia and No I still didn't climb the Beehive!

We spent an amazing two days in Acadia hated to leave, but our journey must go on.  We struck out and headed west to Burlington, Vermont for the night...then on to Upstate New York.

What a gorgeous area....definitely changed my view of what New York has been in my mind.  We stayed the night at a nice campground then headed to Niagara Falls....spent a few minutes at Niagara then "We go now"  was our motto!  Beautiful but it is just a waterfall!

From here we are on the road for two or more days to reach Bloomington, IL to see my sister and watch my nephew play some FOOTBALL!
