The Parks Department had released several California condors in the area and we were very privileged to come across one. It loved to be photographed.
As we did on the entire trip using fresh local food was a priority. Lucky for us it was pine nut season. The Native Americans are able to harvest pine nuts within the park, and we were able to purchase a fresh bag. Enjoyed cooking with them for a solid week. Although I think we each gained 5 pounds from the Navajo bread we consumed.
