Glacier National Park

Hit Great Falls, Montana with only Glacier National Park on our minds.....we found that the people in this little town were so very welcoming and helpful.  We had been putting our bikes inside the camper since New Jersey due to the weld on the bumper breaking (thanks Jersey Turnpike) and not being able to hold the bike rack safely.  We also needed to have an oil change done on the Tundra.  While we were at Toyota asked the service manager if he knew of a good weld shop and he directed us to Specialty Iron Works.  We stopped in on our way to Glacier and they offered to make the repair as we waited, but when we were talking to Steve and giving him a synopsis on our travels and what were planning on doing, he suggested we come back the next morning instead, since the winter storm was expected to hit that afternoon he thought it would be best to visit Glacier while it was still nice out.  We are so very glad he offered this advice since the next day some of the roads were impassable.  BTW the weld on the bumper is superb and holding nicely, will be sending the guys at Specialty Iron Works a special thank you when our trip is complete.  Here are the pictures from our little adventure in Glacier.

This is St. Mary Lake on the Going to the Sun Road.  It is 9 miles long and over 400 ft. deep.

This is Goose Island on St. Mary Lake
Thought it was pretty cool that you could see where the snow melt slides down this mountain.

Mama Grizzly and her cubs foraging for their dinner before the storm hit.
Think this might be their home.
So cool watching this cloud drift around the mountain.

Just so bad ass.

Hard to tell but pretty sure this is a bear resting on the mountain.

Our truck the next morning after the winter storm.
This little guy came to visit each morning we were in Great Falls

After leaving Great Falls we headed to Bozeman to visit Bobby Lassiter a mutual high school friend of both of ours.  He has been living in Bozeman since coming out on a hunting trip in 2006 and loves it, we can see why, it is a really beautiful place.  So sorry he hasn't had any luck in the elk hunting department the last couple of years....I think they go and hide in Yellowstone until the season is over.  We actually had to drive in snow on our way there, pretty cool experience for these two native Floridians.

This is Devils Slide saw it on our way out of Bozeman headed to Yellowstone......to be continued.
