Yellowstone National Park Day 2

Ok here we go day 2, we woke up to temperature of 7*, had to keep the faucet in the tub dripping all night to keep the pipes from freezing up.  Also had to google how to start the heater in the camper, we bought it in Florida in March how could we possibly remember what they told us on the walk through, believe it or not we didn't use it in the snowy mountains of Montana.

Day 2 we were greeted by Pronghorn Antelope

Gardiner River in the Morning

Frozen creek on our drive

Trey thought this was a cool spot to climb this rock

He reach the mountain top!

View on the other side of the rock....so guess who had to climb up with the camera.

They quickly ran back into the woods when the Bull Elk called them.  This was a cool and unique experience, it just goes to show you that you have to get off the beaten path to see the best sights.

View of Upper Falls in Yellowstone Grand Canyon

Yellowstone Grand Canyon

The mist from the lower falls freezing on the side of the canyon.

The top view of lower falls, we had to hike 3/8 of a mile 600' down just to be able to see the top of this fall.  This was a very strenuous hike for someone that isn't used to elevations and thin air.

Lower Falls from the upper side of the Canyon.

Beautiful Meadow on the top of the Canyon.

Nice view of the Lower Falls, the only way to view this other than the top because you can't hike down into the canyon.

Inspiration Point

The viewing platform for Inspiration Point  used to be out on this rock, but an earthquake in 1965 sheared off part of the canyon.

Chasing after his prey.

Mud Volcano

Yellowstone Lake

View of Yellowstone Lake from Lake Butte 8348 ft elevation, with the Tetons in the distance.

View of the forest around Yellowstone Lake that burned a few years ago.

This young couple were enjoying an early dinner.

You can tell he is young because he only had one wife and a small rack.

This bad boy had a harem.....can you see why??

Day 2 is complete and again no MOOSE....oh well maybe on Day 3.
